Follow these recommendations to maximize the longevity and beauty of your hair extensions after installation.
Extensions that are cared for
just like your own hair
Euro Prestige™ extensions are designed to fit naturally into your daily life. With the right care and the right products, they will stay with you for a long time and remain as beautiful as day one.
Always use the Euro Prestige™ brush and avoid pulling on the bonds (rings, keratin tips) while brushing. Gentle brushing, starting from the ends toward the roots, protects both your natural hair and your extensions.
The 7 essential rules
Follow these closely to maximize the lifespan of your extensions.
Wait 48 hours before the first wash
Avoid washing your hair with shampoo for 48 hours after installation. This allows the bonds to settle properly and ensures optimal hold from the start.
Brushing & nighttime protection
Before going to bed, gently comb your hair and extensions, then tie them into braids, a loose ponytail or under a satin cap. This prevents tangles and friction while you sleep.
Always dry the roots at the bonds
It is essential to always dry the bond area after every wash. A bond that stays damp deteriorates much faster and can lead to premature extension loss. If a bond stays damp repeatedly, it may not be reusable for a future reinstall.
Choose the right styling products
Avoid products containing silicone (found in many drugstore products), of alcohol (found in many sprays), of sulfates (anti dandruff or clarifying shampoos), and products labeled "repairing", "regenerating" or "reconstructing" that are protein rich. These ingredients can damage the extensions and their bonds.
Chemical treatments: leave it to a professional
It is not recommended to apply chemical products (color, perms, bleach, toner, etc.) directly on the extensions. While technically possible, we strongly recommend leaving these changes to a hairdressing professional. We cannot guarantee the quality or hold of the extensions if your hair has been chemically altered without supervision.
Sea water, pool & sun
Avoid soaking your extensions in sea water or pool water. If it happens, wash your hair right away to remove the chlorine and salt, and apply a hydrating treatment. Salt water, chlorine, UV rays and even sunscreen lotions can degrade the extensions, their color and their hold.
Heat & styling tools
Avoid using a flat iron or a curling iron directly on the bonds, whether keratin tips or rings. Excessive heat applied to the bond points can weaken them and shorten their lifespan. Always keep a safe distance between the heat tool and the bonds.
